Getting a Doodle Cove Puppy

1. Inform yourself about our Program

We want you to be well informed before you choose to get one of our puppies. Puppies are a lifetime commitment. We also want you to be well aware of the process and what to expect. Please make sure that you have read through our website, particularly our Home Raised page, so that you fully understand how we raise all of our puppies, the temperament testing that we do, and the complete process from the moment you submit your application to the day your puppy goes home and your new journey with them begins.

2. Apply for a Puppy

After reading our Home Raised, Pricing, and Health Guarantee, Purchase Agreement, and Spay/Neuter Contract pages, then please fill out the puppy application on our Puppy Application page. We are honored that you have choosen to trust us to raise your future companion and look forward to working with you to find exactly what you are looking for in a puppy!

3. Schedule an Interview

After submitting your application we will review it, typically within 2-3 business days, and email you to let you know if your application has been approved. We do not automatically accept everyone. If we feel that our puppies are not the right fit for you, then we reserve the right to decline your application. We will always do what we feel is in our puppies' best interests and find them a forever home that fits their needs. We may also set up up a time for a phone interview in order to go over our program and find out what you are looking for in a puppy.

4. Place a Reservation Fee

Once we approve your application and complete a phone interview, you will need to fill out our Reservation List Agreement and submit a $500 non-refundable reservation fee to hold your place on our master reservation list. We accept reservation payments through Good Dog since they protect both parties in the agreement. This $500 reservation fee also goes towards the final price of your puppy. You will be placed on our paid reservation list in the order that reservation fees are received.

5. Join our Waitlist

Once you have joined our paid reservation list, comes the hardest part, waiting for puppies to arrive. Once a litter is born we will move down our master reservation list and contact people to confirm if they would like to be placed on this litter list or wait for a later one. You will have 24 hours to confirm before we move on to the next person on the master reservation list and you will lose your spot for that specific litter, but your spot on the master list is not lost. This wait time may vary based on numerous factors that are out of our control, such as heat cycles and litter sizes. We try to limit the number of people on our master reservation list in order to ensure that the wait time is kept more reasonable. Also, the more specific needs and wants you have in a puppy can extend wait time if you decide to defer your pick to a future litter. We will also continue to update all the families on our waitlist so that they are the first to hear about heat timings, confirmed breedings, confirmed pregnancies, the birth of the puppies, and any other exciting milestones!

*As the breeder, we reserve the right to keep any puppy from any litter at any time!*
